about

This song is a result of some research I was doing on the greek word “Kurios” (κuριος).
It is Strong’s G2962, and has the following definition: koo'-ree-os; from κῦρος kŷros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title): translated as God, Lord, master, Sir.

Doing some further research using Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, I found that the term is also used in the Greek Septuagint of the Old Testament as a replacement for the Hebrew tetragrammaton, the four letter revered name of God, which some people pronounce Yahweh. Thus, Kurios can refer to God in his personal name, but it is also used of Jesus.

In Hebrews 1:8 we see that the Son IS God, so Kurios expresses Jesus’ Lordship and Godship! Let us revere Christ, the messiah, the son of God, God in the flesh with this Greek title, “Kurias.”

Bought with a Price Wichita, Kansas

Hello there! My name is Greg Wilson and I am a Christian most closely associating with Messianic beliefs (keeping the parts of Torah that apply personally now). I go by Bought with a Price because of being bought for God by Jesus' torturous death.
