about

In Numbers 10:10, God gave a command to blow trumpets "in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and at the start of your months"... Well, one of those beginning of months happens to be Yom Teruah - day of sounding or Feast of Trumpets, in which another command is also given to blow trumpets or shofars. As Yeshua fulfilled the spring feasts with His death and resurrection and the coming of the Spirit later closer to summer at Shavuot, we expect Him to fulfill the fall Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) with the trumpet blast that will hail His second coming to reign in righteousness.

So this song celebrates God's command to blow the trumpets at the beginning of months, and more specifically, the beginning of the 7th biblical month in the Fall, in the context of expecting Yeshua one of these years to come with power as the Great Trumpet is blown to declare that the kingdom of Heaven is coming to Earth! Halleluyah! The chorus, thus, features the traditional prayer "Baruch attah Adonai Eloheinu Melekh Ha'Olam asher kidshanu b'mitsvotav v'tsivanu lishmoa kol shofar" - which blesses God who has commanded us to hear the trumpets. Hope you enjoy!

lyrics

Chorus:
Baruch attah Adonai
Eloheinu Melekh Ha'Olam
(2x)
Asher kidshanu b'mitsvotav
v'tsivanu lishmoa kol shofar
(2x)
Amein___

Verse 1:
In the day of your gladness
And in your set feasts
And at the start of your months
You shall blow the trumpets

It's the day of our gladness
So we will rejoice
We'll hear the sound
The sound of the shofar

(Chorus)

Verse 2:
And one day the day will come
When the king shall descend from on high
The trumpet of Elohim
Shall sound with a cry

Justice will come
Your plans will be done
And for those in Messiah
We will rejoice in His love
And we'll hear the trumpet sound

(Chorus)

Bridge:
So we'll hear the shofar
And wait for the Morning Star
We will ready our hearts
And each play our part

For the King will come
The drums will drum
And so each time we hear the shofar
We'll say come

(Chorus)
