This is a complete setting of Psalm 3 to music, with repitition of text in choruses. Essentially, the psalm is a prayer for salvation from one's enemies. I was needing assurance of salvation, so that is partly why I chose this text.
The crux of the psalm I think is found in the lines I have chosen for one of the choruses, namely:
"Kumah, Adonai (YHVH), Hoshieni Elohai" -- (the Hebrew)
(Arise, LORD! Save me, my God!)
If you are needing deliverance or salvation in any way, maybe you can cry out with the chorus (the above line)!
lyrics
Psalm 3
(NASB version, with different terms for God's Name, and minor wording differences to reflect the Hebrew wording found in the Interlinear Bible)
Verse 1: HaShem, ("The Name" (of God) - the 4 Hebrew letters Yud, Hey, Vav, Hey, sometimes pronounced Yahweh or Jehovah/Yehovah - the true pronunciation I do not know, and I revel in this mystery, the pronunciation of the most Holy Name!!)
How my adversaries have increased!
Many are rising up against me.
2 Many are saying of my soul,
“There is no deliverance for him in God.” Selah.
3 But You, HaShem, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head (yeah)
(2x)
4 I was crying to HaShem with my voice, (2x)
And He answered me from His holy mountain. (2x) Selah, Selah! (2x)
5 I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for HaShem sustains me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me round about.
Chorus:
7 Kumah, Adonai (My "Lords")! Hoshieni, Elohai!
(Arise, Yud, Hey, Vav, Hey; Save me, my God!)
(4x)
For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek;
You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
8 To HaShem the Salvation,
On your people, Your blessing! Selah. (4x)
Chorus (8x)
